The Church of Santa Barbara is a Colombian temple of Catholic worship, under the invocation of Santa Barbara. The current temple is a rebuilding of the old one baptized with the same name. The building is a popular Antioquian baroque style, dating from 1726, being the oldest standing temple in the town. The poet Julio Vives Guerra called it "The Grandmother of the churches of the Province of Antioquia". It was declared a National Monument of Colombia. 💡Curiosities It has a beautiful baroque style tower with a balcony of Solomonic railing, moldings, fine palms, flowers and lions adorn it. The top of the tower is formed by a dome surrounded by crests and its three altars are painted in gold.
