Beautiful and sumptuous for its magnitude, the Church of the Immaculate Conception is of semi-romantic style. Pedro de Heredia had it built in 1541, and in 1550 it had to be rebuilt by the neighbors of Mompox. In the year 1795 its interior was embellished and years later one of the two towers it had collapsed. 💡Curiosities The Governor of the Province of Mompox, José Duque, decreed the demolition of the temple to build the current one, completed in 1934.
